District 12 is the coal mining district. The children of District 12 are often severely disadvantaged in the games as they do not enter the mines until they are 18. Most District 12 tributes lack strength, nourishment, and basic survival skills, so they typically don't last long in the games. The people of district twelve are divided into two very different groups, the coal mining families of the Seam, and the wealthy, upper-class merchant families.

Personality

Annie is typically shy, and a bit cold-natured. To many people she comes off as stuck up, but those who know her well know that's far from the truth. She's very steady and level headed, slow to speak, quick to listen, and slow to anger. Being the daughter of a seamstress and a doctor, she's very wealthy, but very humble. She's very knowledgeable with herbs and medicines and she can make just about anything with a needle and a scrap of fabric.

History

Annie is the victor of the 70th Hunger Games. At age 14, she became the youngest District 12 tribute to win the games. Her opening ceremony costume was a stunning black ballgown, with a jewel studded crown that resembled fire, and ornate wings that looked as if they were made of flickering flames. She carried a torch, that was naturally burning goal. She was nicknamed "District 12's Beacon" by the people of the Capitol. She caught the eye of Finnick O'Dair during the preparation for the opening ceremonies. He flirted with her playfully and nick named her "District 12's Human Torch" much to her dismay. She and Finnick became good friends after their victory. During the 73rd Hunger Games Finnick finally confessed that he'd never met anyone quite like Annie, and he didn't think he'd ever be more attracted to anyone else. The two became a couple and have been together ever since.
